Commission indépendante sur les caribous forestiers et montagnards

Mandate

The Commission met with citizens, Indigenous communities and stakeholders from the regions concerned to hear their opinions on two theoretical, hypothetical scenarios devised by the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs (MFFP).

Citizens throughout Québec have express their views on this issue by attending the hearings, submitting a brief or answering questions. Groups were also given the opportunity to meet with the Commissioners in private.

The Commission warmly thanks all participants for sharing their concerns and opinions. In total, more than 500 citizens attended the public hearings, 470 responded to the online survey and more than 100 briefs were received.

The report was file to the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs on August 22nd, 2022. It is available here. (Available in French)
